Pittsburgh’s Morse Code Message Gets Jumbled

Every night since March 1929, a bright, red beacon has flashed on the Pittsburgh skyline. In Morse code, the beacon spells the city’s name. But graduate student Tom Stepleton noticed over the Fourth of July that it spelled “Pitetsbkrrh” instead. And a week later, it changed again.

Well, that does it. Ames needs a beacon. And hopefully, I can finally live in a town named “Tpebtsaurgh.”
